w800i software errors..

Hi i'm using windows xp and i'm tryin to install the software that came
with my sony w800i phone. But when I try and install the disc2phone
software i get asked to install Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1
Service Pack 1. I click yes to install it and then recieve the message
Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7926fcd8).
So i cant use my phone's walkman feature to put on my own music
without it? Pleaaseee help...........

I binned the software that came with it. It's painfully slow. You can drag
and drop MP3's straight on to the phone without the software. I'm doing it
fine. I have found that if you drag an MP3 straight into the MP3 folder they
will not play...dont know why but I have got round this.

You need to create subfolders within the MP3 folder for the songs to play.
You need to have them 2 levels deep too...again I have no idea why this is.

If you wanted to put the new Madonna track on you need to create a folder in
the MP3 folder called Madonna and then a folder within Madonna either called
Tracks or the Album name and then insert the MP3's into it.

If I try to put MP3's just into the first Madonna folder then they simply
wont play.

If you have lots of random tracks then create a folder in MP3's called
Random Tracks and then a folder within that called Tracks for them to play.
Of course you can rename the folders to whatever you like but in my
experience they will only play when these subfolders are created.

I have recently updated the firmware at the SonyEricsson site which has made
the phone more stable. Sometimes I would switch mine on and all the tracks
would be missing. This has now been sorted with the new firmware.
