Restore Contacts from Storage / SD:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Contacts
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export
  4. Select to “Import from” SD or storage
  5. Choose the location for restoring contacts
  6. Wait for the phone to finish searching for vCard files, then select the file you want to import / restore

Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

  1. Tap “Apps” and go to “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. Select, or sign in with the account containing the backup
  4. Select your email address
  5. Make sure “Contacts” is selected and tap “Menu” > “Sync now

Restore Media Files

From “Photos”:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Photos
  3. Tap “Sign in” if necessary, and log in with your Google backup account
  4. Select to perform backups over “Wi-Fi and mobile networks” or “Wi-Fi only
  5. Tap “Turn on

From a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Kyocera Hydro View to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)" is selected
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate and copy the media file backups
  5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB

From a Mac Computer:

  1. If necessary, open the Internet browser on the Mac, visit and download & install the app
  2. Establish a USB connection between the Kyocera Hydro View and PC
  3. On the phone, make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled in the notification area
  4. Launch “Android File Transfer” on the Mac
  5. Locate the media files backed up on the Mac and use Drag & Drop to transfer them back on the phone storage
  6. Once the files have been transferred, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “Trash can
  7. Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
