Restore Contacts from Storage / SD:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “Contacts”
- Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
- Select to “Import from” SD or storage
- Choose the location for restoring contacts
- Wait for the phone to finish searching for vCard files, then select the file you want to import / restore
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Tap “Apps” and go to “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select, or sign in with the account containing the backup
- Select your email address
- Make sure “Contacts” is selected and tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
Restore Media Files
From “Photos”:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Photos”
- Tap “Sign in” if necessary, and log in with your Google backup account
- Select to perform backups over “Wi-Fi and mobile networks” or “Wi-Fi only”
- Tap “Turn on”
From a Windows PC:
- Connect the Kyocera Hydro View to your computer via USB
- Swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)" is selected
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the media file backups
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
From a Mac Computer:
- If necessary, open the Internet browser on the Mac, visit https://www.android.com/filetransfer/ and download & install the app
- Establish a USB connection between the Kyocera Hydro View and PC
- On the phone, make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled in the notification area
- Launch “Android File Transfer” on the Mac
- Locate the media files backed up on the Mac and use Drag & Drop to transfer them back on the phone storage
- Once the files have been transferred, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop into the “Trash can”
- Safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
