i have the lg vx8100 and i'm trying to load mp3's and pictures on my phone. I am loading using a sd card reader with a 512 mini sd card. When i load songs under the mp3 folder on the card only some of them come up and when i load a picture into the pics folder, when i go to view them i get a "?" and no picture is displayed. Whats the deal with this? Thanks in advance.

This is just a guess based on someone who recently had a similar problem with a different model phone. Try shortening the name of each file to 8 characters or less, and make sure there are no dashes or other symbols in the file name. That should do the trick. Let me know if not and I'll research the problem further.

I didn't resize the pictures so now they work but i'm still stuck on the mp3's. I changed the file names and all that stuff and i'm only getting like 8 files to open where as before i had 18.

if you have a new 8100 you need to be putting wma's instead of mp3's. if you have an older one it could be a couple things. where do you get your mp3's from itunes?

    Re: 8100 problems

Ok guys/gals. I just got my friends 8100, went and downloaded about 35 songs from bearshare, and loaded every one of them onto his memory card. I did not change the format from mp3 to wma or anything.

The only thing I did do, was make sure that there wasn't any foreign symbols, characters, etc in the names. None of the names where over 12 characters in length, and that was it. All but four songs played, and after opening them up I found out they were copyright protected and therefore the phone wouldn't play them.

I have explained this numerous times about the 12 characters or foreign symbols. A period is a foreign symbol and therefore, even if the song is on the card, it will not recognize it. Same goes for comma's, @, #, $, etc.

The 12 characters in length is this:

One of my songs is called, Red white and blue.mp3 by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Now, even though all of them do of course equal more than 12 characters, they are not in a row. Example:

Red white and blue.........by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Now, the blue.........by is actually 15 characters.

Therefore the phone won't recognize it, even if it's on the card and your computer can see and play it, the software on the phone won't recognize it, nor will it play it; most of the time.

I tried this on his phone. I re-did 10 of the songs with periods, and it actually seen one, but didn't see the other nine. Don't ask me why it does this. I have heard of it not seeing any of them, and then I have heard of it seeing one or two.

I removed the periods and the phone recognized and play the songs with no problem.

So you might want to make sure all of your songs do not have any of these problems in them and see if that helps.
You are CRUNCHY, and taste good with Ketchup!!
