Anyone interested in using a 2 GB memory card for the 9800 will need the T98VZV05 SW version so the phone will recognize the card. My phone, about 2 months old, had the T98VZV02 SW version. So I went to Verizon today to get the new SW version. Cool. However, I just found out that the MP3 PLAYER HAS BEEN ERASED ! Gone. Your Get It Now apps are also erased. The new version forces you to use Verizon's V CAST Music. After 30 minutes on the phone with Verizon, they pretty much said tough s**t, your MP3 player is gone-for good! They said that the old SW version can not be reinstalled. I'm going back to Verizon tomorrow to demand a new phone. . I'll post again on what happens.

Re: VX9800 software upgrade warning
To get your MP3 player back:
1) Open your phone
2) Press 0
3) Then enter 000000 (for code)
4) Select Music Settings (number 12)
5) Then select MP3 Only or MP3 & MOD.
6) OK
You should be good to go. My 2GB card is working great on my VX9800. Over 400 songs on my card!
