Ok I have the new LG shine (lg8700) from Koodo. All I want is to have my own custom ringtone.
I do not have the usb cable, but I do have an micro sd card that works. I can put music on it but there is no option to "set as".
I read through many forums and all I gathered was that it should be less than 300kb which I have. But still no option. Is there a special Folder I should create like ringtones on my sd card or what?
I have windows vista, have the BitPim and the drives to detect my phone. I can detect my phone via bluetooth from my laptop. Just someone help me find a solution.
Also a quick side note I put Jpeg photos on my sd card, but the phone seems not to recongize it and I cant see any picture when I click view?
Thanks,
Warhawk

Re: Koodo LG8700 Ringtones?
im not sure but i think you need to format the micro sd card with your phone
1 go to settings
2 go to memory
3 card memory
4 press options then format
if it asks for phone lock code it should be the last 4 numbers of your phone #

Re: Koodo LG8700 Ringtones?
Yep, tried that. When you format it a few folders appear on the micro sd.
there is Media, Music Sound and Photos folder.
I tried putting them in music sound and media...still no option to set as.
I tried making the songs under 300kb like I read for some other LG Shines. still nothing I even tried having it no longer than 19 secs.. still nothing.
I could pay 4 dollars and get the tune? But Screw that haha.
Also I was wondering if you know what file format the photos have to be? I put some pictures in the pictures or photos folder, and they were Jpeg, but I couldn't see them on my phone.
Thanks!
