I recently purchased a V600. I am a Cingular subscriber in Illinois. This model was said to be unlocked. I charged the phone and inserted my sim card. The opening screen and everything else seems to be from T-Mobile. I can access my phone book, viewing the numbers and names, but I cannot make or receive any calls. I can currently get no network when I search. My previous phones had no problem with signals(LG C200, Nokia 6010), and I have a friend who uses CIngular with a V500 and has had no problems with signal. Is my phone really unlocked? Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong or what I can do to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with v600
I could be that where you are at Cingular have frequency set on 850 MHZ and the fone has Tmobile flex on it which criple it to triband( 1900-900-1800MHZ) enstead of quarband ( 850-1900 and 900-1800 MHZ)
So in short you need to flash the fone with cingular flex to change it to Cingular brand, but better look for a unlocked flex , so your fone will not be lock back again

Re: Help with v600
Thanks. I sent it back to the seller and am in the process of getting a refund. I purchased a V190 pay as you go phone to hold me over until my new contract starts. Solid phone for cheap.
