I've never had a cell phone, and recently received a Motorola/Verizon V265 camera phone. I've googled and searched, trying to get info on what type of plan I need, or what my next move should be, but can't seem to find the answers I'm looking for -- hopefully you guys can help.

I basically just want to use it for emergencies and the occasional phone call, so I'm looking for the cheapest route. Do I have to stick with Verizon? (seems like their 'basic plan' is $40). My preference would be to just get the prepaid cards, but I don't know if I can. (or how to start the process!)

Apparently access to the web/long distance is a luxury add-on?
