    Anyone tested a MOTOROKR Z6m?

I was shocked to see the absence of a flash - what were they thinking?

It otherwise looks like a solid performer with EV-DO, which I am guessing makes
ir a good data modem for tethering.

    WDYT? doc

I got the Rokr Z6m about a month or so ago. It works great. Would be nice if it had a flash, but I'm not worried about it. I've used this phone for various things and I've had no trouble with it at all. I've also used mine as a modem to connect to the internet through Alltel and have had zero trouble with it. It connects good and utilizing EVDO, the transfer rate is very respectable. I'd recommend it.

The keypad is alright for text messaging. Might be difficult depending on the size of your fingers. Kept messing up at first till I got used to the feel of it's surface. And the battery life seems to be good. I actually haven't tried to see how long I could go until it dies. I usually get on the internet after work and the computer charges my phone while I'm surfing. But of course depending how much you use your phone will also depend on how long the battery lasts.

I have Slvr L7c, I love the phone but the camera and video is so-so, now rokrz6m comes out, do you think it is worthy of and upgrade in regard to everything, or should I wait till summer for something more exciting? I really want to know why z6m doesn't get flash? ruin the party as I am night hawk!

PS: do you think moto will release a nicer slvr with 2 megcam, and bigger screen like 2.2 " any time soon?

From what I've read about the Slvr L7c I would think that the Rokr Z6m is certainly a worthy upgrade. However, I've never handled Slvr line of phones, I'm not 100% sure if it is worth upgrading to the Rokr. I will say that picture quality is very good. And the video quality is good. The music player works good and the sound quality of the music is good. I'm using it more than my iPod now. Not sure why Motorola didn't install a flash on the phone. Although it would have been a nice benefit. But, since I never used the flash on my last phone, it wasn't something I was too worried about. As for what Motorola has planned for the Slvr lineup of phones. Well, your guess is as good as mine.

How about that slider? Is it gonna fall out sooner than expected? I have handled the rokr for twice and I don't feel the components are put together well, I think that if you slide open like 15-20 times a day as I use phone that much it won't last 6 months and I have to look for replacement again! meanwhile candy bar like slvr or BB or Q is perfect withstanding heavy use much better, what you think?

I actually feel that it was built more durable than most slider style phones that I've encountered. I will agree that a bar like phone would probably last longer than a slider style phone. Of course the slide will eventually wear out. However, unless your needing to use the number pad, you can actually do everything you need to do with the slide closed. Alot of times, I just leave the slide open if I know I'm going to be using it frequently during the day, but most of the time I just leave it closed and use the nav key to go where I need to go. And it's the same for when I'm talking on the phone.

I think I am gonna read and wait longer before pulling a trigger, as right now people start to know that there is new rokr coming out. thanks for you excellent input and keep us abreast on progress. Moto needs to come up with hotter product within 6-8 month from today to push sale, otherwise next 2 qt, they will be even more humiliated by #1 & #2 cell makers than what is going on right now! Let see what Mr. Brown can do....
