    Restoring Applications:

    1. If needed, sign in with your Google account (on your smartphone)
    2. Press the "menu" button while viewing a home screen
    3. Tap "Settings"
    4. Swipe to "Accounts" and tap "Google" > "Sync all"
    5. Press "Back" and tap "Backup and reset"
    6. Check/uncheck "Backup my data" and "Automatic restore"

    Restoring Contacts From a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Press "Menu" while viewing the home screen
    2. Tap "Settings"
    3. Go to the "Accounts" tab
    4. Tap either "Google" or "Samsung" – depending what type of account you've used to back up your contacts
    5. Tap your "email address" at the top of the screen
    6. Mark the "sync contacts" check box. If it's already selected, then tap "Sync now"

    Restoring Contacts from the SD Card:

    1. Tap "Contacts" while on the home screen
    2. Press "Menu" and select "Import / Export"
    3. Select "Import from SD card"
    4. Choose the account on which you wish to restore the contacts
    5. Select the desired contact backup file and load it

    Restoring Media Files From the SD Card:

    1. While viewing any home screen, press "All apps"
    2. Tap "My Files" > "All files" > "SD card"
    3. Navigate to where the media files are stored
    4. Tap and hold a file that you want to restore, and select "Move"
    5. You will now be given the available memory locations. To move the files in a different location, tap the folder name or select "Create new"
    6. Navigate to where you wish to restore the files and tap "Move here"

    Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect your smartphone to your computer via USB
    2. Drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device". Then, mark the "Media device" check box
    3. On the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer". Otherwise, manually navigate to where you wish to restore the media files
    4. Open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to where the files are backed up on your computer
    5. Copy the files and paste them onto your phone's memory
    6. After the transfer is complete, disconnect your smartphone from your computer

    Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Establish a connection between your smartphone and Mac via USB
    2. On your smartphone, open the notification area and tap "Connected as a media device". Then, mark the check box associated with "Media device"
    3. Open Kies on the Mac
    4. Go to the "Back up / restore" tab
    5. Click the "Restore" tab
    6. Mark the check boxes associated with "Music" and / or "Photo". Optionally, click the boxes next to any additional categories, or mark the "Select all items" option
    7. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts
    8. Once the files have been restored, safely disconnect your smartphone from your Mac
