    Restoring Applications:

    1. If necessary, sign in to the Google or Samsung account used for the initial backup
    2. Tap "Settings" while on the home screen
    3. Scroll to "User and Backup" and tap "Accounts"
    4. Tap "Google" or "Samsung", depending on the type of account used for the backup
    5. Tap your "email address" located at the top of the screen
    6. Tap "Sync all"
    7. Press "Back" twice and tap "Backup and reset"
    8. Under "Backup and Restore", check / uncheck the boxes next to "Back up my data" and "Automatic restore"

    Restoring Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. Sign in with the account used for the backup
    2. Go to the phone's "Settings" menu and scroll to "User and Backup"
    3. Tap "Accounts" and select "Google" or "Samsung"
    4. Tap the "email address" at the top of the screen
    5. If necessary, mark the "Sync Contacts" check box
    6. Tap "Sync Now"

    Restoring Media Files

    Restoring Media Files Using the Smartphone:

    1. While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
    2. Launch "My Files" and tap "All files" > "SD Card"
    3. Tap the "Menu" icon located in the upper-right corner
    4. Tap "Select" and mark the check boxes associated with the files you wish to restore
    5. Tap the "Menu" icon again and select "Move"
    6. Select "Device storage" and tap "Move here". NOTE: to move the files to a different location, tap the folder name or tap "create folder"

    Restoring Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Establish a USB connection between your computer and the Note 4
    2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
    3. Mark the "Media device (MTP)" check box
    4. On the computer, click "Open device to view files"
    5. Navigate to the desired target location on your Galaxy Note 4
    6. Open a secondary Windows Explorer window and locate the backed up files on your computer
    7. Drag the files and drop them on your phone's storage
    8. After the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer

    Restoring Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect your Note 4 to your Mac via USB
    2. Swipe the "notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
    3. Mark the "media device" check box
    4. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Back up / restore" tab
    5. Click the "Restore" tab and mark the check boxes associated with the "Music" and "Photo" options. Optionally, check the "Select all items" option to restore all your files
    6. Click "Restore" and follow any additional prompts if necessary
    7. After the process is complete, safely disconnect your smartphone from the computer
