    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Device”
    3. Go to “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu”
    5. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    1. On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
    2. From the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
    3. For more options go to “Settings”
    4. Tap “Display” and enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. For timeout options, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features OFF when not actively in use – such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS – to avoid unnecessary network scans and conserve battery life.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. From the quick toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features off
    3. Open “Settings” for more options
    4. Tap “Location” for GPS settings, then tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Temporarily Switch to 2G Networks:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve the battery until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks”
    4. Go to “Preferred network type”
    5. Enable “2G”

    Reduce Sync:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “Personal”
    3. Tap “Accounts”
    4. Select an account type and the desired account
    5. Change the available sync settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life when the apps are not actively in use. Thus you can remove or disable unused third-party apps from the device to improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Tap “Apps”
    3. Ensure “All apps” is selected
    4. Select the desired app
    5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable” to confirm
    6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can include battery life improvements and as such, it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if updates are available:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
    3. Access “System updates”
    4. Check if a new update is available for download
    5. If available, follow the on-screen steps to download and install the updates (NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot)
