WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, all data stored on the internal memory will be deleted, including apps, ringtones and media files, downloaded content, contacts etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values. However, data located on the SIM and SD cards will not be affected.

NOTE: You can visit this thread for a guide on how to back up data on the LG device, and this thread for instructions on how to restore data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access the “General” tab
    3. Tap “Backup & reset”
    4. Optionally, turn “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore” ON or OFF
    5. Tap “Backup account”
    6. Select or create an existing Google account
    7. Tap “Factory reset” when ready and optionally choose whether or not to “Erase SD Card”
    8. Tap “Reset phone” > “Next”
    9. Press “Delete all” > “OK” to confirm

    Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If you are unable to reset the device from the Settings menu, alternatively you can try resetting the phone from the Android Recovery menu, which can be accessed by performing a combination of button presses as follows:

    1. First turn the phone off
    2. Then, press and hold “Volume down” and “Power” simultaneously
    3. At the “LG” logo, quickly release and re-hold “Power”
    4. At the “Factory data reset” screen, release both keys
    5. From the Recovery menu, press “volume down” repeatedly to highlight “Yes”
    6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
    7. At the “Erase all user data and restore default settings” prompt, highlight “Yes” and press “Power”

    Check for OS Updates:

NOTE: After factory resetting the device it’s recommended to check if new OS updates are available for download. To do this:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access the “General” tab
    3. Tap “About phone” > “Software info”
    4. Check if a new update is available, and if applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply the update (NOTE: the process will require to reboot the phone at least once)
