so why don't they get one of the many streaming apps? joost is one
that's available now; sling box is coming soon. there are others.

maybe you could look at the rest of the evidence, in that streaming
    *exists*.

adobe is working on it, but that is a little different than just
implementing a proprietary codec because you can write apps in flash.

yea and? it doesn't have flash.

actually very few people request mms, particularly since there's email
which is much more capable. mms is not the greatest protocol either.

probably the biggest request for new features is the notification
framework which was supposed to be out a few months ago. apple dropped
the ball big time on that one.

Yeah. Keep thinking that. Not everyone has e-mail to get pictures.

So your saying that people are requesting Flash Light apps more then MMS,
Copy and Paste, Flash and so many more apps that come syandard on 95% of
    other phones huh ?

i'm saying not that many users are requesting those other than a few
vocal critics, most of whom don't own an iphone. apple picked a mix of
features they thought were important. since the iphone is selling
quite well and its users are very happy, it looks like they made a good
    decision.

Let me get this straight. You do not have an iPhone but want it to
have a costly obsolete MMS function so it can talk to old crappy
phones and send them a picture. The iPhone has the ability to send and
receive real email with photos as attachments which are received by
any PC or Mac in the world as well as the newer more capable phones.
Email is unlimited and FREE on the iPhone.

Why not waste you time and call for people to get rid of the old crap
and move into the 21 century so they can communicate using RTF emails
with Apple the third largest phone dealer in the world based on the
    value of current sales.

Another thought since it is obvious that majority of the real mobile
market is using an Apple platform now would it not make sense to
create Apple specific pages and lose the flash crap so you do not miss
critical sales in this stressed economy? Those that do may survive,
those that don't may loose the part of the trade they need to survive.

I know if I am taking a group out to eat and I hit a flash page while
searching for a restaurant, I don't even pause to consider it, I just
move on to one we can interact with. I am mobile and I am not going to
boot up a laptop for such a simple query.

I got the money and it goes to the one who makes my life simple.

Email is unlimited and FREE on the iPhone.

Why have SMS If e-mail is free ? Not everyone has E-mail on there phone.
SMS And MMS are instant. Turn on email to check every min and the battery
    lasts a half a day.

How is MMS costly ? Try sending a picture to a person who has no email.
There never going to get it.
    Not everyone has e-mail.

AT&T is going to make money on it. They tell apple to add it, It's done.
Does apple not know how to add MMS to the iPhone ? Sounds like it to me.

Why not waste you time and call for people to get rid of the old crap

If flash is crap, then why will as others are saying, It will be here soon.
If it were crap then apple would not allow it into the iphone.

I know if I am taking a group out to eat and I hit a flash page while
searching for a restaurant, I don't even pause to consider it, I just
move on to one we can interact with. I am mobile and I am not going to
boot up a laptop for such a simple query.

But if you had flash you would stay and read the menu or reviews. You have
no choice. You can't read the webpage.
So keep wasting time searching for a non-flash page. I'll wait.

I got the money and it goes to the one who makes my life simple.

So your going to waste time going to another website becuase your iPhone
cant do flash. That makes your life simple ?
    How so ?

Because it simply doesn't play what's on the webpages. It plays Applequeer
codecs. The browser should not have to pay extra just to play what's on
the webpages. That's absurd. I'd be pissed, too.

pay extra?? joost is free. plus, there's a lot more to do than just

or use one of the dozens of dedicated restaurant search apps that are
location aware and link to reviews too. why use a webpage at all?

They don't cover all area's. If your in a area not covered like mine, And
were not some hick town. There are a few on one but hardly worth the effort.

True, but not many have push-email, which gives MMS a distinct advantage-
like SMS, it offers instant delivery.

Me own a iPhone ? Your a funny guy. Biggest POS There is. Closed OS, no
thanks. A few friends own them. They thought they were bad-ass till they see
things that it wont do as to what I have. They both regret buying them.

Bluetooth flat out sucks on the iPhone. Can't transfer file's. No external
mem so there stuck at 8 and 16GB. Battery can't last more then a day.

The only thing I wish I had from the iPhone is the Flashlights. God, I
thought about buying one just for that alone. Guess I'm out of luck on that.

just what i thought. you haven't actually used any restaurant search
apps on the iphone, yet you are so sure they don't work well. and if
your friends regret buying an iphone so much, why haven't they replaced
them with something else and then sell it on ebay, likely making a nice
    profit out of it?

    > Bluetooth flat out sucks on the iPhone. Can't transfer file's. No external

the only issue with bluetooth is it doesn't support stereo headsets,
but those are clunky and not particularly common. transferring files
is easy. most people are more than happy with 16 gig; the best selling
    ipods have less than that.

the iphone isn't everything to everyone, it's most things to most
people. buy something else if you don't like it.
