I have read that this is true. The problem is finding an OEM 3560 keymat
as they are not sold by accessory houses. In fact, many aftermarket
keypads sold for the 3560 actually are of the weird 3595 design ...
inclduing those sold with faceplates.
The other solution to giving the 3595 a more standard keypad is the 3510
and 3590. The 3595 is based on the same chassis, so a 3510/3590 housing
and keypad will, in effect, give you a color-display phone that looks like
the 3510/3590. Since these GSM phones are more widely distributed than
the TDMA 3560, there are many more sources for parts and accessories.
I found a 3510 keypad and OEM silver housing from dealers on eBay and did
exactly that.

Actually the 3510i is the color equivalent of the 3595 except that the
housing is like that on the 3510/3590.

And so is the 3510i! The 3510i is the European "equivilent." (sic) Go
to nokia.com and check it for yourself if you're so doubtful. They do
***** it colour instead of color so that might confuse you.
