How to unlock my phone for Cingular?

A friend of mine gave me a Motorola 220? (its black with a blue front) from ATT wireless. I put my sim card in and it asks for the unlock code. I have called both ATT and Cingular as well as driving to the Cingular store and they have told me is to do some research on the internet. Well I figured I would hit you guys up first for suggestions?

PS If I can't do it myself, anybody know of any places in Orlando where I can have it done or am I better off buying a new phone?

You're more than likely going to have to pay someone to do it. There are many places available that will charge you, but be careful. A lot of these guys are scammers.

I'm not sure, but I don't think there are any available software packages to do it yourself.

man that would suck....
