Previously when I did a search for something on the net or followed a broken link which internet explorer could'nt find it I used to get a "page cannot be displayed" message.
Now I get directed to http://lop.com and all these crap pop-ups appear, 3turtles.com cellphones4u.com etc.
Obviously it's something I've downloaded but I don't know how to get rid of it. I've looked through my hard drive, searched for it and tried add/reomve programmes but can't find it.
I want to get rid of it. Does anyone know what this is all about, has anyone else got this on their pc and how do I get rid of it?

go into your internet setting and change your browser home page back to what ever you are on ( like ntlworld.com )
and this should sort it out .the same thing happened to me they change your browser settings that why you can't find any programmes

Anyway, I had something like that once... I weeded through all those popups and found the removal process. It was a pain, but it worked.

Try Mozilla. It has an option for disabling unrequested pop ads, so you don't have to download a pop-up killer app.

Thought about that and went into windows to try and find it. After 2 hours of opening anyting that looked like it could be the culprit I gave up!!

I think it is a spyware.
Try downloading Ad-aware here:
http://download.com.com/3000-2094-10...ml?tag=lst-0-1
or : http://www.lavasoft.de/
Install it and scan the hole computer. Remove any spyware it finds.
hope this will help you.Last edited by vstfreak; 10-28-2002 at 09:05 AM.
