LG The V (9800)--video format/mp3's?

I was wondering what format video these take. I was reading the manual and it mentioned .wmn, however, I've put .wmv formatted videos on the phone through the memory device and they won't view.

I'm sure someone knows what file format they have to be in to be played through the phone.

Also, is there a way to set mp3's as ringers? I've managed to get many songs onto the phone through the memory card, but have seen no way to choose one of the songs as my ringer. If there's no way, what is a good way to get mp3's or other songs to be playable without downloading them or paying for them?
