    Hi,

My wife seemed to have washed my uniform with what could've been the winning lotto ticket, all my pocket change from the day prior and my most prized possesion my new motored v3. I know theres nothing bada** about these phones and they are a dime a dozen but this was my first clamshell and I really liked it alot. Anyways, I was curious if sprint could give me sh*t about water damage or loss or it being crushed whats the best overall undisputibale excuse to give? It does have some sort of insurance but I don't know whats covered could someone please help me out...

    Thanks, .

Water damage = $50 deductible under your ESRP (extended warranty).

    Lost phone = $50 deductible.....

Sorry, there's no way around water damage...

There are some reasons they will waive the deductible but never for water damage.

Manufacturer defect, no deductible. Perhaps you can somehow prove the phone threw itself in the washer while you weren't looking because it was suicidal? Suicidal phones would probably be considered a manufacturer defect.

EDIT: Sorry, it's not very nice of me to make light of your dilemma... but as far as I know, manufacturer defects are the only reason they'll waive the deductible. I've had 3 phones replaced without a deductible because they started doing strange things (no voicemail/text alerts, LCD screen went bad, unexplained random rebooting) but Sprint had to test the phones first and take them apart to make sure a hard drop didn't crack the circuit board.

i have gotten at least 5 replacement phone from sprint. never lost one. its 50 to replace a lost phone. two of them were water damage which is supposidly not covered, but they tested the phone faulty, and didnt tell me i couldnt get a new one so obviously they didnt know the water caused the damage.

If you take your phone to any store they will bust out a PH kit and test your phone for contact with water. Even if you say the phone was not damaged by water, they really want to try to nail you. I even witnessed a guy come in to a Sprint store while I was on hold with customer service say his phone was damaged cause he dropped it (the screen was broken). They asked if it had any contact with water and he said "Nope" and they tested the surface of the phone with a PH kit and turned him away because they claimed there was water damage, it was a RAINY DAY OUTSIDE! Sprint is unreal.... seriously...
