Like a unlocked sidekick and still be able to text and all or a nextel and still be able to chirp(push2talk)? and can anyone tell me specifically what companies use sim cards cause if i switch to revol i want like a nextel phone or the sidekick if its possible.

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
I don't think so. Revol is cdma, t-mobile is gsm. Different technologies entirely.
T-mobile and Cingular are GSM carriers, and use sim cards for gsm. Sprint and Verizon are cdma, do not use sim cards, although they could. nextel, is cdma, but it uses an IDEN card, which is similar to the gsm sim card, but larger.

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
recently the apple iphone was hacked and unlocked, able to be used on any of the networks you guys have mentioned, like t-mobile, verizon, etc.
so does this mean that the iphone can be somehow made compatible with revol's unlimited everything (texts, minutes, internet, etc.)?

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
Sorry, Revol will not register a non Revol phone with the co., it's against there Co rules.
I thought that would be a great idea to get a used unlocked phone, and use it at Revol.

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
Revol will flash certain CDMA phones. They started doing it a couple months ago. You would have to check with them on specific models to see if they can do it for the one you want.

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
Revol can flash phones from verizon, alltel, sprint, virgin mobile, cricket, tracfone and more. It's pretty cool. I flashed my sprint instinct over to revol.
I love it.

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
I wanted to lodge a complaint about T-Mobile non-contract service in the Atlanta Suburbs. I bought an unlocked nokia 1208 T-Mobile phone on February 2, 2009. For the longest time I couldn't access the number of minutes I had left. On April 25th, I was preparing to journey back north where I live during the summer and fall. I stopped at T Mobile on Chastain Road in Kennesaw. How do I find my minutes, I asked? Dial #999# then hit the green phone. He demonstrated, it worked. I tried a couple of times before driving out of town. It worked. But when I tried it again at the five star gas station in Paducah, Kentucky, I could not actuate those minutes. In fact, though I kept T-mobile service the entire way back to Sparta, Wisconsin where I live, getting two to five bars SIGNAL, I've never been able to find the minutes I have left on my unlocked T-Mobile phone AGAIN. Wednesday night (5-13) I went to the T-Mobile shop on Chastain Road in Kennesaw again. The tech there couldn't get it to work. He called Network, they had no answer. Finally, he put my sim in a locked store phone from the shelf. It worked. He suggested I complain to Nokia. I did. The Nokia tech said the T-mobile tech's test was not a fair one. He put my sim into a locked off the shelf T-mobile store phone which has the whole network programmed into it, unlike my unlocked phone. He was right. If you leave the host area where you bought the unlocked nokia 1208, you won't get minutes information from the cell again. T-MOBILE OF ATLANTA HAS PROGRAMMED UNLOCKED NOKIA 1208 NON-CONTRACTS TO DENY ONE THAT CRITICAL INFORMATION IF ONE LEAVES THE AREA OF PURCHASE!

Re: Unlocked phones and revol
Revol doesnt use sim cards but you can use most verizon or sprint phones. I just did it with a sprint phone. Only downfall is you cant get internet or picture messages. Everything else is good. $40 to activate it but is cheaper than a new phone.

It depends whether they run on GSM or CDMA technology.
