Hi
I've just bought a new phone (800i) and my wife (who is with Virgin)
would like my current K750i which is on Orange - I had a brief chat
with Orange today and was told it would be possible, but at a cost of
£25!
Is there an easier and cheaper way to do this? I have no experience of
unlocking phones, but it seems a shame to throw away what is a pretty
good phone just because Orange won't help me out!
thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you - I guess this means it's something I can't do myself?

not without the correct cabling and software.........
I suggest you look through your local yellow pages for an independent phone
repair/reseller shop and give them a call.

Have you actually tried the Virgin sim in it? My K750i is also on
Orange, received with an Orange contract, but arrived unlocked.

you could do it yourself but would be much easier just to take it to a shop
(as even doing it yourself would cost you)
