I'm looking for someone able to unlock phones in the montreal area.... Im about to get a V3

I saw some of the prices... and its ridiculious... (60-70$$)

I knew a dealer that was able to do it for 30 bucks but lost contact... I was hoping someone in the forum can help me.
    Thanks

That is ridiculous... even the $30! I'm not certain about the Montreal area but there are a number of sites online that can unlock your phone for nowhere near those fees...

The reason why I wanted to know if someone can do it is because you can unlock your phone by cable (serial) or codes....

Now that leads to another Question... whats better ... Unlocking by cables or codes?....

I heard that by unlocking it by cables its better and safer for the phone.

I've never had any issues unlocking by codes that's the only way I've ever done it... I'm not sure why it might be harsh to unlock by code as opposed to cable... I'll look into it though...

    anybody else heard of this?

edit: Ah I see... hehe I last looked beneath your avatar for reference and saw Nokia... but, if you can do it yourself though it's better that way... and there are numerous sites out there...

i can unlock any nokia but moto can unlock thru subcidy code which only your service provider can give. i don't think that they gonna give the subcidy for that v3. the next option is data cable solution and unlocking software in which you can get it thru ebay.

Guys I found a site that said that for moto.... You can can only unlock it through cables (doesnt say as to why the only option is cable)... now that you said my provider doesnt provide the code that can explain as to the information I got on the site.

As for the sim unlock machine... Noy interested for myself or even to consider entering into that business...
Just want to find some who can do it at a good price

service provider don't give you the code for moto. whats the reason? i dont know.
so far the only brand that you can unlock thru code is nokia (except for 6230, no public software can calculate asic 6 code) lg, not all model can unlock thru code. siemens, not all model can unlock thru code. samsung, is the same not all model. neck, the same not all model and panasonic, the rest of the cellphone brand needs data and unlocking software or unlocking clip. if you want to go to unlocking business you can always go to ebay about the software and data cable. but first you have to know what you are doing. to save some money. time and headache let some pro do this for you. check this site www.cellularpager.com they fix, unlock, flash, any phone just email them first before sending it to them.

hahah that one threw me off guard. he's getting a V3!!! lol, (yes I read your reply to why you posted it).

Why in God's name are Nokia's so cheap to unlock.

Check this website out. $25. I think that's USD though...not sure. I think it's the cheapest I've seen. I'm not sure if the other one I saw for 30 (35 if you don't mention you saw their add in hofo) is CAD or USD. I haven't checked the marketplace here...but there's about 8 unlocking companies listed in howardforums.

fyi, I just hupp'd to a black V3 2 nights ago also (it's coming in the mail). I need to unlock it also and have it ready to ship to my pops in Baghdad. Dang is he ever going to get a chubby when he see this phone lol. I'm beginning to doubt my moral fibre and WILL to actually send it to him-rather keep it for myself lol.
