Now, Data prices have been reduced significantly by major providers and people are actively using it with Rocketsticks, iPhones, other smartphones, etc.
So I decided to post this thread.

My Voice + Data plan is:
$50 After the System Access Fee
- 350 Minutes
- Unlimited Evenings and Weekends @ 6PM
- Caller ID
- Unlimited Text Messages
- 6GB of Data

Your plan looks good, I am not seeing where the prices have been reduced as far as I knew 6GB is no longer offered, and probably won't be until the new iPhone comes out next year (hopefully), and while it was offered it was $30 flat out. Your plan seems to be a retentions plan, no? Seems to be a great plan..

i hate how they don't let you buy smartphones on contracts without a data plan.

Better than plans without data so why complain?? But then again without data, it's pointless to have a data device.

Hi, Is this a good deal?
This is the plan I was quoted from Rogers Retention Department.

$ 18 Corporate Business Plan (200 Wkly/Unltd Wkend and Unltd Evenings)
$ 5 text messaging for 2500 texts (unlimited incoming)
$20 for 1 GB Data Plan (normally 30.00 but they are taking $10 off for the duration of a new 3 year contract)
$5 unlimited evenings after 6pm and weekends
$6.95 System Access Fee

Total approx. $ 55.00 plus tax

They are offering me a Blackberry Bold if I wish but I received a gift for 200.00 towards an iphone. I plan to purchase the phone from the Apple store and apply that to the plan. I have checked with Rogers and they will honour that as well (this way I don't have to purchase the phone from a Rogers store)


Any idea if this is in fact a good deal????

wow, that's a deal....for my plan I got it since Aug/08. I'm paying

$40.00 for mega plan come with 350 min wd
unlimited network calling
unlimited weekend + week nights at 9pm
added on +$9 to get early calling at 5pm
+$20 for value pack : voicemail + call display+unlimited texting + video msgs

$30 for dataplan 6GB.
+6.95 SAF+ Tax....I've been paying $131/m and sometimes over...

Over 15 months, I changed 4 blackberry, this time it's totally broken, can't turn on at all. I lost all the contacts during xmas and new year, couldn't message no ones to wish them a happy holiday. I was so upset, made a phone call to complain but this girl didn't help much.

Here is what she offered me:

a white bold 9000 for free but sign 3 years contract again ... when it's the same offer for new customers + $100 rebate in stores...what the heck?
then she lower my data plan down to from
6GB to 1GB data plan + voice $55.00 plan, saying I don't need that much...+ 300 weekdays minutes only , unlimited network calling, and early calling from 6pm now instead 5pm, add on unlimited incoming calls $15.00, + my navigation $10.
Total with tax $95.58

I told her that she is not helping at all. It was'nt a deal. I just want them to give me another BlackBerry with whatever i have left on my plan which is 1.5 year. but she would budge....also with the plan, she kept saying it was the best she could do....

what should i do now? Can anyones give me some suggestion? Thanks

its unlikely you'll be offered any decent deal unless you tell them you are canceling.
Simply tell them you want tocancel and wait until they transfer you to another representative. These are the people that can give you the real deals, Tell them you can't afford your plan any longer and want to cancel and they will make you a much better offer. just remeber to be polite and tell them "your friend" is getting a much better deal and cite the examples listed in this forum.

The key is for them to beleive you are going to cancel, and with a bill like yours i would suggest doing just that if you dont get a better deal.
