Any chance the USB cable will allow me to interface the phone from a Macintosh? I know the software packages are Windows only, but the Mac is plug and play for many devices and I'd like to know before I bother buying the cable....
Thanks

yes, mac os x does work with bitpim & sanyo
It's been a while since I set it up, but I recall that Mac OS X (10.2.x? and up) has a built-in generic driver; NO downloads or CDs required FOR THE DRIVER. Just go to http://bitpim.sourceforge.net and get bitpim. Data cable from ebay(~$4) or Radio Shack (~$20). If a CD comes with the cable, it is useless for your mac.
I have sprint on my Sanyo PM-8200. The modem setup was easy - you might want to create a new "Location" and set up the modem part.
Bitpim is a little buggy, but constantly getting better. I still can't figure out how to download/backup applications and games, but the other things are working.
