I just bought the 6700 yesterday and have a question about EVDO. The guy at the sprint store added the EVDO plan, wich was only a $5 more a month upgrade from the plan i already have. I cant figure out if EVDO is activated or not on the phone. When i go to internet explorer on my phone and enter in a website. At the top of the screen a window comes up saying its dialing 777. and then it goes to the website. Then when im on the website, at the top of the screen there an icon that says Ev with 2 arrows facing the opposite way. If i put my stylus over it, it says Sprint PCS Vision (Dial-up) and connected. Am i connected to EVDO?

Nope. The 6700 is EVDO, but with the current software version, it does not take advantage of the full EVDO capability/speed - just because the phone was just released recently. There will be a software update in the near future which will enable the phone to go full EVDO speed (you would see EVDO on your screen instead of EV). Call your full-service Sprint store periodically to see if they received the updated software.
That's what our tach in my store explained

i fixed my internet, ended up fiddling with the connection settings. One question, when the update for the 6700 EVDO is released, where should i look for this update. Will it be on sprints website for download you think?

Maybe it doesnt need an update, on my phone i went to the website bandwidth place.com And i did the bandwidth test for ADSL and go the results of 949.9 kilobits per second. with only 1 bar of reception. i was very suprised with the speed.
