Hi - O2 have gone and disconnected my PAYG account as they say it has not
been used for (over) 6 months. But the call log on my phone shows I made
a call on 11 September 2005 (I only use this phone occasionally) but O2
say they have had no record of this call and therefore 'cannot' reconnect
my number which has credit on it still.

Any suggestions? Complain to Oteleo? Is that likely to produce a positive
outcome? I cannot print out my phone call log so it is basically my word
    against O2's it would seem.

    Regards

What about calls received? Count as well. If its from a friend they may
have your number on a bill.

You can document the call log in many ways. A picture could do. There again
who is to say the log isnt from another sim card?

Just because the phone shows a call was made doesn't necessarily mean the
    call connected.

With regards to taking a picture for evidence - yes from another sim, or
changing the date and time on the phone then making the call would be
    easier.

What's the name of your tariff?
I *think* that on the old "original" tariff you did not have to call every 6 months and that o2 once
disconnected me in error. The memory is hazy!

But it doesn't show weather that call connected or not. It has to be a
chargeable event or a top-up to keep the phone alive.

Ask them to reactivate you, or get a new SIM.

If you mean Ofcom - no.

It is worth nagging them a bit, they may give in. A while ago my spare
Vodafone PAYG SIM went dead. In my case, they were within their rights
to deactivate it, I had forgotten to use it for a long time. But I
managed to persuade them to reconnect it and restore the credit. No
shouting, swearing or getting angry, that rarely helps - just polite
    persistence.

I haven't made the mistake on O2 so I don't know whether they can be
    persuaded.

These rules are a nuisance. The primary phones in our family are
Orange. Contracts for the wife and me and PAYG for the boy. There is
no problem with these. But I also have some spare Orange PAYG SIMs
that I lend to visitors from abroad and SIMs from the other 2G
networks. Keeping these alive is a nuisance.

I have and I couldn't persuade O2 to re-activate the SIM but I did get
    some credit back off them.
