I called up Orange today to see what I could get for staying with
them. have been offered the following
* £25 month - select 500 anytime - 500 mins and Zero SMS.
12 month contract
* £35 - 2250 mins anytime - No SMS. (apparently a match of an o2
tariff, but I don't know o2 to offer anything like this). 18 month
contract.
Big catch on both offers is even a crappy phone like the K510i is
£29.99 (sells on ebay for £70) , phone upgrade prices are the same.
I was thinking of getting a K800i as the photos in the K750i look a
bit crappy compared to my 3.1MP normal camera I use. Does anyone have
one of these and know what they are like?
My other option which I think is best one is to take a Refurbished
Motorola RAZR V3xr on Three for just £15 a month and get 300 mins with
it. This would work out 5p a minute and looks like a bargain. BUT....
I need to know if Three has an option for checking free minutes and if
it works ??
I also need to know if it's difficult to PAC a number to Three from
Orange.

Re: Orange retentions offers
I'm on Orange, was on Premier 600 (600 xnet + £10 text/pic msg + free
insurance) which cost £55 per month. Told Orange that I was coming to
end of contract and was considering moving to T-Mobile flex-t plan (400
xnet) for £25 and requested for my PAC. They passed me onto "Orange
Relations" and they pursuaded me to take the Select 500 (500 x-net +
100 txt) with an upgrade (got free SPV C600) for £25 per month. I
asked ask about insurance and got that chucked in for free for 12
months. The only down side is that it's a 18 month contact. Looks like
Orange are panicking a bit more about the competition and wanting to
retain their customers.

Mate of mine is also after the 2450mins anytime - do you if Orange will
allow this to a non-customer? He left Orange about 3 months ago, if that
helps.
Thanks

My mistake, actually I want my PAC number from Orange to move the
number to Three. Buying the phone online, surely it can't be too
difficult?
How many weeks before the expiry of my PAC code should I buy the Three
offer? I was thinking of buying at the end of August for safety.

so how can Orange offer me 2250 mins for £35? I got her to repeat the
information a few times.

It's 2250 mins and only avaliable to current customers.
Only problem with the offer is there's almost no circumstances where I
would use that many minutes, and with no decent phone thrown in, would
not be good value for me compared to Flex-35.
I think Three's £15 a month is a real bargain of a contract offer
especially as I can roam on o2 and Orange.

Just tried Retentions, was offered 2500 anytime any network mins, unlimited
text messages for £35 a month with a Nokia N80 for £50, no data allowance
though was offered 25 MB at £15 per month. Already have free 0800 access, so
not too sure there is much more to ask for as my Line 2 Everyday 50 is
staying as well.

Not really! I phoned quite a few times to retentions as my porting date
came closer and they wouldn't budge at all.
The "best" offer was to give me 30 texts (I was on 120 texts/month and
promo would end Jan 2007) so in effect I would lose texts and not gain
any minutes.
My £25/month spend was not worth anything to them so I left.
Some on this will say that my monthly spend isn't in their best
interest, but I would've thought having £25/month coming in is better
than nothing!

Well just head over to t-mobile and do the £25 per moth flex-t... I
would probably say one of the best deals out there if you're going in
cold. Hunt around the internet to see if you can get nay cashback
deals too...
