I am so angry with them after getting off the phone with customer
services. All they have been doing during the past 45 minute call is
fob me off and telling me that they ARE NOT sending me my cashback
cheque. They are rude and aggresive. I advise anyone not to buy a
phone off them or go for their cashback deals. You will encounter
    more than you bargained for.
I'm off to go break some doors and make fist-shaped holes in the
    walls.

Cashback deals require you following strict terms and conditions which you
agree to when signing the contract. If you do not stick to them you can't
expect the company to honour the terms. I would not personally go for a
cashback deal as there is no guarantee the company will still be about in
    12months.

I went on one from Scancom, after the first 3 months, I sent them first 3
bills and got my 12 months line rental refunded. No fuss, no hassle.

I have a current cashbck deal with BMP and they paid out the first
    instalment.

So, without be flippant, did you stick exactly to the T&Cs?
Any retailer offering cashback requires you to do this.

I have dealt with them by both phone and email and have never had a problem.
Yes they wre slow to pay up, by then again they do say there is a 56 day
wait in their T&Cs, and yes I did have to chase them but on day 56 they
issued the cheques. So they did keep their end of the deeal.

When dids you take out the contract? I guess this is your first claim, so
are you using the T&Cs that require you to send in vouchers? Did you send in
*all* the bills required in the correct time frame with a covering letter
and send it by RM recorded or Spedial delivery, depending on the claim
    value?

Just trying to help understand what has gone wrong, thats all

I have just received the third and final payment on a deal with them and
I had no problems at all. I complied with the terms and sent the claim
recorded delivery each time and they were prompt in paying so I would
use them again. I would suspect that there was some question of
complying with the terms as I can imagine that with most of these deals
there is a hope that user error will mean that they don't have to pay
    out.

I sent in my first six bills as soon as I received the sixth one. I
sent them by Recorded Delivery and even called them a few days after
to see if they have received them. They said they did and that it
would take up to 28 days for me to receive a cheque. Going well so
far. After around 30 days still no cheque and so I called and they
told me that they never received any bills from me. The 45 minute
call with them was me telling them I have proof that I sent the bills
and I have copies of the original bills. They fobbed me off and said
they can't do anything and wouldn't even look into it for me. I told
them that I'm going to a small claims court to get my money and all
they said was "yea you go do that".
They are rude and not very helpful. I'm just going to have to go
through the long way to get my money. I might even consider calling
    Trading Standards.

Tony, I have just looked at BMP current T&Cs, and for both 12 and 18 month
contracts, the first payment is made after 4 months not 6 months, so in
theory you were 2 months late.

that is unless you had a different agreement and it was documented at the
time you took out the contract.

When I did it my first claim was at four months and I had no problems
with them. It may be that the T&C's were different when Tony did his
deal but it would seem unlikely that they would have different T&C's for
    some deals.

Both our contracts are 12 month deals and claims are at 4, 8 and 12 months.

    From BMP website

16.1. Line rental refunds for 12 month contracts, text pack/bundle refunds
and cash backs will be paid in three equal parts; on month four, month eight
and month twelve for your contract by redemption of the appropriate voucher.

16.2. Line rental refunds for 18 month contracts, text pack/bundle refunds
and cash backs will be paid in five equal parts; on month four, month eight,
month twelve, month fifteen and month eighteen for your contract by
    redemption of your claim voucher.

Our second set of claims are with them now. I know they have been received
as they were sent by SD and I have printed out the proof of delivery
sinature from RM, so they will find it rather difficult :-)

As was mine so it does sound like Tony may be blaming BMP for this when
in fact he has not complied with the T&C's of the agreement.

That is the underlying problem with all these cash back deals as it
appears as if the companies are hoping to make money from those who for
whatever reason fail to comply precisely with the conditions.

Tony - Are you sure that you are right in accusing them of the error or
could you possibly have made a mistake with your claim?
