What on earth!
Just went to the old easymobile website and they're
directing customers to shimmerbright.com where you
can log in!
Why on earth are they changing their name to that
yet still closing?
I'm just being nosey and wondering if anyone has any
ideas!

At a guess, maybe their rights to using the easymobile name have
already expired and they need to use a different name until they
finally close down.
It also gives them a name they (presumably TDC) can use for any future
ventures they may plan to do.

People might be interested to hear what Sir Stelios said as he threw
the toys over the side
http://www.easy.com/archive/10.11.06EMO.html
But as that page is no longer online ...
He criticised his partner company, who have paid easy group a
six-figure annual licence fee (his words), and pointed at changes in
their ownership and management structure going back several months,
asserting that they had not done enough to build the product as they
were no longer interested
- which doesn't really explain why they launched a huge promotional
offer in the middle of the summer - that at least doubled the number of
subscribers, but most of the new ones weren't actually spending any
money
"Simply put, TDC is no longer a worthy licensee of the easy brand and
damages will be sought to compensate for any damage done to the brand
in the past or in the future,"
and
"I will make sure that TDC understand that they must treat the
customers and the staff well and I am already putting a new service in
place with a new partner under the easyTelecom.com brand."
Well, Telmore seem to have made those arrangements with both customers
and staff, even before his outburst. Perhaps the page above has been
removed on the advice of the two company's lawyers ... ?
In their home country Denmark, they got to a significant market share
in a very short time, but it just wasn't happening here
Maybe this is more even-handed

easyGroup has terminated their [TDC] right to use the easy brand, and
the rights to use the easy brand expire around the 8th December. The
service, as we know, then ceases on 13th December but they need a point
of reference/contact while the company is wound up and refunds are paid
hence "shimmerbright"!
