It was announced recently that Vodafone is adding 500Mb per month of mobile
internet data free of charge with its £25+ per month plans - yet on the Voda
website data services as still shown as chargeable. Does anyone understand
what is happening?

Yes, mobile phone networks are running around in a panic no knowing
what Broadband deal to offer next to compete with other networks offers
Of course Orange offers are already at least 3 months behind

What would have stimulated Vodas deal would be Three are now offering half
price
Broadband on any Three contract, and Three have phones like the Nokia 6120
with HSDPA on tariffs as low as 15quid a month (T&T 300) for as short as 6
months
So you can add BB from 5 quid for 1gb d/l lite, up to 12.50 quid for 7gb
d/l max
