Does anyone else use US Cellular's email to SMS gateway ([email protected])? We use it extensively here at work for notifications from server and network monitoring programs.

Anyway, we have started to notice some pretty crappy delays recently. This weekend I had an alert of an overheating CPU delayed by 2 hours. Other coworkers have reported delays even greater than that. US Cellular's only response is "well have you rebooted your phone recently?" So I DID reboot my phone yesterday even though I'm pretty sure that has nothing to do with it and set up a cron job to send me a timestamped message every hour. So far out of 22 test messages, 16 have been immediate, 2 have been within 10 minutes, and 4 have been within 30 minutes.

Has anyone else seen these types of delays? I'm pretty sure it is a problem in their email gateway that should affect all users. I also noticed that their SMS server is apparently not synced to any kind of network time server because it is 3 minutes slow. And this affects all SMS services, not just the email gateway. Messages I send at 10:00 AM arrive on my phone timestamped at 9:57. Well... when they aren't delayed by 30 minutes
