Rather than call CS and get my contract extended or hear a sales pitch I'm
wundering if anyone can suggest a reason why my Vision PW wont work. The
phone logs in and works, I can access my mail via pop.sprintpcs.com ---- but
I can't log into my email through the manage page (want to set "alert" for
received mail from a specific party). It's telling me my PW is wrong, but I
know it's not -- or at least I'm using the same entry I always have. Then,
if I try to change my PW to what it should be / was it says that that
password is the same as what I'm trying to change it to. Argh!
Several weeks ago someone posted a list of things they'd like to see Sprint
do ---- here's another, don't screw with the customers' stuff. This is like
when they closed the SMPT servers --- and didn't tell anyone --- including
the "service' folks. Hell, if they're going to email me a flyer with "great
deals" why not send an email with pertinent changes to how I use my service?
I'll tell you why ---- because SPCS doesn't have a service department ----
and everyone's a friggin sales person -- or up-sales person.
Wonder how little I want to talk to "service' I'd rather lose functionality
than call *2 ---- how's that for a recommendation?

maybe its the username, and not the password. A common problem is a
leading or trailing space that may not be immediately obvious to the
user.

Tom, I had a problem with my password as well ... I forgot it ... A
call to *2, on hold for a minute, an explanation to the CS rep, and
giving all my personal security info got me the password within 2
minutes ...

This is at a location where it presents the username ---- so I'm not sure
this will help me. But yes, on other sites I'm forever doing what you
describe here. <grin>
Thanks!!

Re: vision pw
I was afraid you were going to say this, Bob. Oh well, I'll wait for a day
when I'm ---- oh, lets say more up for a challenge.
Was it all fixed on their end, or did you have to interact with the phone /
system in some way?
Thanks for the skinny.

Re: vision pw
Tom,
The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Turns out a bunch
of passwords became corrupt on the web site during a server upgrade or
something. I was told this later by someone in tech support. Your
password is still what it should be but the web site can't recognize it.
Rather than call customer care to try to get it resolved I just decided
to change my password to something different. It worked.

Re: vision pw
Larry, if I change my Vision PW via the manage page does that propagate over
to email accessed at pop.sprintpcs.com? I guess I get a little confused on
the architecture and what PW's work where. I really hate to mess with it
after what it took to get everything working in harmony (phone / outlook
connection / etc) just to get some notifications to work. Whatever I do
it'll wait until I get back from this week's trip cause I need things to
work whilst being a road warrior.
Despite confirming my fears <grin> thanks for the info!!

Re: vision pw
I think the PCS e-mail password is different than the Vision password. I
used to have different passwords for each. I ended up changing both my
Vision password and e-mail password to the same thing and have had no
problems since.

Re: vision pw
Just to add to my last post, the will basically Reset you Vision password.
At that point you should be able to go online, and setup a new password
without even having to enter one in.
Thats what they did to me. It works A.O.K.

Tom, I just dealt with one rep, got the info and no interaction with
the system was needed.
