The Nokia 8800 comes with the 900 mHz band in place of the 850, unless you're going to strictly use it with T-Mobile then it will work, just don't expect to be able to roam on it.

900 mhz is for European GSM carriers. in the US, T-Mo uses only the 1900 mhz band, so the 900 mhz band does nothing in the US.
if you're on cingular, find a phone with 850/1900 mhz. i've heard a lot of unhappy users who got european model phones lacking the 850 band. most of them end up selling the phone.

My apologies! Nic is correct about the 900mhz band! I forget that T-Mobile is available in so many countries, and everywhere I was reading that T-Mo uses 900mhz was in reference to Europe. So listen to Nic and not me
T-Mobile is in the USA exclusively 1900mhz. As I have been saying all along from the beginning, this phone is not going to work very well for you. I'd advise against buying it. You want a phone with 850/1900mhz.

although t-mo is 1900 mhz, the 850 mhz band on your t-mo phone is beneficial. t-mo and cingular have roaming agreements, and not having the 850 band cuts you out of some of the roaming coverage areas. if my phone didn't have the 850 band, i wouldn't have coverage within an hour of my parents' house.
