Back Up Applications:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Go to the "General" tab and swipe to "Personal"
  4. Tap "Backup & reset"
  5. Mark the check box next to "Back up my data"

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Under "Personal" tap "Backup & reset"
  3. Tap "LG Backup service"
  4. Tap "Backup and restore" > "Backup"
  5. Select to back up your contacts on the "SD card", "Internal storage" or "Cloud"
  6. Tap "Next" and mark "Personal data". Deselect the other options
  7. Expand the "Personal data" directory and make sure "Contacts" is selected
  8. Tap "Next" > "Start"
  9. When the backup is completed, tap "Done"

Back Up Data on the SD Card:

  1. From the phone's "Settings" menu, swipe to "Personal"
  2. Tap "Backup & reset" > "Backup"
  3. Tap "SD card" > "Next"
  4. Select the items you want to back up and tap "Next"
  5. Tap "Start" and once the "Backup completed" pop-up appears, tap "Done"

Back Up Media Files

Using Your Smartphone:

  1. Go to the phone's "Settings" screen
  2. Swipe to "Personal"
  3. Tap "Backup & reset" > "LG Backup service"
  4. Tap "Backup" and choose to store the data on the "Internal storage", "SD card", or "Cloud"
  5. Tap "Next" and select "Media data"
  6. Expand "Media data" and select the items you want to back up
  7. Tap "Next" > "Start"
  8. When the process is complete, tap "Done"

Using Your Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the LG Volt 2 and your computer
  2. At the prompt, tap "Media sync (MTP)". (If not prompted, enable the option from the notification area)
  3. In the AutoPlay window on the computer, click to browse the phone's files and folders
  4. Navigate to the media files on your phone
  5. Copy the files you want to back up, and paste them on your computer's HDD
  6. After the transfer is done, click the "mass storage device" icon in the system tray, eject the phone's storage, and safely disconnect it from the USB connector
