Hi Folks,
I have a Siemens S56 phone. I used to have GPRS working (in fact it was
displayed on the phone), I even enabled a GPRS modem connection via ir to my
laptop with some Siemens software. Then, I signed up for MediaWorks and
messed up my phone settings. Anybody else out there setup their Siemens
phone for Cingular Internet Access. I do not know if it was the same APN,
id, password, ip address, lingertime, etc as before, but I cannot now get
this to work.
Thanks,
Jim

Here is the setting I use on Nokia phones:
For the WAP browser in the phone:
Homepage: http://device.home
Proxies: Enabled
Proxy: wireless.cingular.com:80
Data Bearer: GPRS
Access Point(AP): wap.cingular
Authentication Type: Secure
Login type: automatic
User name: [email protected] (use CAPS)
Password: CINGULAR1 (use CAPS)
For Laptop/PDA connection:
In the phone set the Access Point(AP): wap.cingular
In the Laptop/PDA set your Dialer to dial *99# on the serial your phone
is connected to
In the Laptop/PDA set your Dialer to use the usnername: [email protected]
In the Laptop/PDA set your Dialer to use the password: CINGULAR1

Wahoo!! Those settings worked. Thanks Randy! However, it wasn't until
Cingular actually turn it on. They forgot to "provision my phone." I am
hoping to be doing some tech support at the beach now.
