Are you in your local home area?
I find that when I leave the Tallahassee area where I live in order
for me to get my voice mail I'm required to dial 1-850-xxx-xxxx and
then hit * then type in my access code.
If your in your local area don't know what to tell you.
Could try dialing 611 and see what they say.
If you find out anything let us know.
I'd be interested in what you learn.

I know that on my voicemail, I have to enter #(not *)and my code. Try
calling your phone and let it go to voicemail and enter #code during
    your message.

On most phones it is automatically programmed in if there is a little
tape reel embossed on the 1 key.

It sounds as if your voicemail system was updated, and your phone
    wasn't.

Contact Customer Service or a Cingular rep in your area, and get the new
    number form them.

It may or may not be your cell phone number. If it is not, then calling
your cell # and accessing your voicemail will get you charged minutes
twice -- once for the call, and once for voicemail.

Voicemail implementations vary across the US, so non-Florida advice may
    or may not work.

You might simply want to call your cellular company and ask them what happened.

In all my years of cellular use, ALL of my services have me dialing my own
cellular number and they then know to connect me to my voice mail!

*99? I believe people before have said those * codes don't always work
outside your home area. It shouldn't have had that programmed in to
begin with. My 6340i was programmed with a special voice mail only
number that wasn't my actual number. You can either call CS and get the
correct GSM number to use or use your cell number -- reprogram the 1 key
    via Menu/Messages/Voice Messages/Voice Mailbox Number.

What protocol are you running on? This summer, my TDMA Moto c331t
worked fine with *99. What area do you live in? Is it possible that
there were more GSM expansions, and so you are using GSM (possibly with
AT&T or a new T-Mobile SID)? The first thing I would make sure is
that you are running off Cingular's network. When I was roaming on
AT&T's TDMA network, My voicemail access with *99 did not work, but I
only make voice calls when roaming. Are all your other features
working correctly? When I roam on Western Wireless, my voicemail, text
messaging, and sometimes conference calling do not work.

When I try calling it, and enter my phone number, I get the mesage "That
is not a valid Mail Box number, please try again."

I have a 407 phone number on Cingular in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando).

    Re: Voice mail in florida

    Here is what happened.
YOU either messed with the voice mail number thinking "whats that
    doing here"
    OR
your phone was improperly programed. In which case if you press NAMES
and scroll up 2 placed to OWN NUMBER you will NOT see your phone
    number.

If you did #1 call 611 or better yet your local store and ask for the
voicemail number. IE the number for 386 is 386 299 6606 or 6611

If #2 then still call 611 from home (800 351 2400) and ask for a
download to be resent to your phone.

    Hope this helps.
