AFAIK only GSM phones have IMEI numbers. Analogue phones have ESN's
(Electronic Serial Numbers) - not having any direct experience I can't say
what CDMA etc. type phones as used in the US have, but I doubt it's an
    IMEI in the GSM format.

I have read about other #...# codes that I tried with similar results.
I didn't know if the problem was my naivete' or an issue with CDMA
phones or a feature USA wireless companies don't want phone owners to
    have.

I find much more interesting information about GSM phones than CDMA.

    Much obliged, Bob
