Have SprintPCS check the phone's ESN. Many times this number is
listed in the auction. If it isn't, the seller should provide it for
you. I think it is under the battery on the StarTac. If there are
outstanding charges or other problems logged against that ESN (such as
the phone being reported stolen), SprintPCS won't activate the phone.
