My brother got the same thing on his Optus mobile. He was being charged
a couple of $$ for these messages he never subscribed to. The message
also said he could unsubscribe by sending a message to 19-something
(ie: pay a couple more dollars)

Optus said he must have sent them a subscription message. He made Optus
go through his bill and find a time he texted them, which they couldn't
find, so they removed it from his bill.

Premium SMSs can also be charged on receive as well as send. (This is
how you "subscribe" and pay $100 a month for some services... also note
many of those chat ads on TV say something like "$2.99 per message
PAIR" which is your line and the reply)

Charge on receive means company XYZ can send you a premium SMS without
having any prior relationship with you.

IMHO this should only be permitted if you've previously sent a
subscription message to them, or there's some other way to verify the
owner of that phone has initiated the subscription. It will probably
never happen since the carrier makes money from every premium SMS.

Looks like they're some sort of premium SMS gateway, reselling to third
parties... when I called them a few months ago you had to key in the
premium SMS number to get the correct contact details.

In our case one of their "clients" sent 36 SMSs at $3.50 each, a total
of $126. As far as we were able to figure out there was never any
subscription (or ANY contact) initiated from this end. Sounds similar
    to your situation.

    Hello Simon

Looks like you have the wrong company. (But that is our address.)

We are graphic designers - not anything to do with mobile services.

Our name is Dialogue Visual Communication - similar name to the crowd
    you are chasing.

Good luck tracking down the other people.

And sorry for the answering machine here - I spend most of my time out
    of the office these days.

    Cheers

    John

    Thanks, Peter.

Yes, Simon - I think you have the wrong 'Dialogue'.

(See my post on the original thread.)

My company is a graphic design company - nothing to do with mobile
    services or SMS.

Good luck tracking down the other crowd.

    Cheers

I sent John a heads up email so maybe he might know what this is all about
before it gets out of hand. He was thankfull, has been known to get a few
crank calls in the past and now he knows why. He tells me (as his website
does) that he is into visual comunication and not spamming/scamming mobile
    telephones.

    No probs.
John also said he received a couple of messages on his answering machine by
someone who was pretty upset though failed to leave any return details.
Hahahaha, Simple Simon. Poor John, like wtf! A blind man could see the
difference in business. I would try and get the other croud to change their
name if I was John though not sure how he would get on. This thread might
    help!
