Another Sprint to boost Question

Hey everyone im new here and just wanted to say hi and i have my first question for you all. Right now i currently have an 1776 under the boost unlimited, its an IDEN phone, and ive been reading up on the sprint to boost switch lately and i really want a SPRINT SAMSUNG Instinct-M800. I called boost the other day and i got lucky and the guy told me that sprint phones would work on the boost network. So I wanna know what my next step is. For 1 i wanna make sure that the Samsung Instinct-M800 works with boost if you all could help me out with that and also, if it does then do i need to go out and buy a boost CDMA phone and activate it then go to my Instinct or Can i just buy the instinct and call into boost and have it activated. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!!
