Hey guys... I recently noticed a red lump on the roof of my mouth... and im sot sure what it is... I talked to my mother (Yes, she's a dentist) about it, and she took a look at it and she can't determine what exactly it is... The lump is the size of a small grape, and off centered to the left of my pattet... it has grown since monday, and now my throat is growing very soar, and the lump is getting painful... i cant find anything that addresses this issue online... does anyone know what it might be?

hopefully it is nothing more than an ulcer brought on by an abundance of acid in your mouth from sweet/salty holiday foods

I hope so, i plan to do that soon... my throat has been killing me for about 2 months now

could be a alerigic reaction to something uve eaten, buts thats just a guess get to the doctor imediatly or.. wait a few years for me to get my degree in medicine

Hell! I can barley stand a sore throat for a week, much less 2 months! Hope you get it taken care of soon man!

Thanks guys, im going to an oral surgent on friday... i had some of the other doctors at the dental office my mother works at check it out... the x-rays were inconclusive... the symptoms i described to them make it sound like a tumor... i hope it isnt though... idk... im getting it taken care of on friday... hope for the best :crosses fingers:

tumors can be benign, and it might not even be a tumor. i have a cyst inside my lip that appeared mysteriously when i was about 10. it's still there, i never notice it unless i lick it with my tongue or squeeze on it. i remember when it first appeared it was painful, i dont remember a sore throat, but the thing hurt, i thought i had a tumor, and the doctor said dont worry about it..

basically what i am trying to say is it could be nothing at all, and being over-worried will not do you any good. definitely see a dr. about it asap but don't go around fearing the worst until you know more. i also had a mole cut off my back one time because it started growing and looking weird, and it was sore from rubbing on my shirt, but it turned out to be benign. still, i'm glad i got it checked (and removed) before it got any worse. good luck

Oh, no ulcer... this thing is killing me... and if i keep my tounge on it it feels like its pulsing... lol... im gonna get it checked out, and im not worring about it, once you stop fearing death... you realize that its an inevidability, your not worried, just a slight concern

Sweetheart... my workmate just had a cancerous tumor removed from her mouth and she's very fine now .... even if it is bad you are lucky enough to have modern medicine on your side!

(but I've just said a prayer all the same)
