Just last week I was the proud owner of a female Chihuahua (name Tookie and a female kitten (named Hannah). Now this week I struggling to get over the lost of my Chihuahua whom was hit by car last week while trying to get on the school bus with my kids whom Tookie loved dearly! My cat Hannah now wonders through the house looking for Tookie who is never coming back and just today it finally hit me that she's deceased and I will never get to see her run up to me in the morning when I get off work! I never realized how sad it would be to lose my favorite pet who I always looked at as "just an animal". Now I can't stop crying Worst of all she had just given birth to 2 puppies who also died the day before their mother was killed They would have been a month old this past sunday

Re: So Upset Over My loss!
Thanks for the reply ellen. As time pass I know I will overcome this tragic loss but Tookie will forever remain with me. I told my kids I will not be getting another dog for some time to come but at the same time while I have lost my Tookie.....I still have my cat Hannah whom I also luv. Dogs are a mans best friend but I'm a female and Tookie was my bestfriend My hubby keeps trying to tell me that if I remember all the good times I shared with Tookie things will get better but so far all the fond memories of her makes me cry so I don't know now at what point I will get over this. Time heals all wounds so I pray I will overcome this!

Re: So Upset Over My loss!
Oh yeah, I know how you feel. I treat animals like humans. Pets like family members. Our dog Tasha died earlier this year after 15 years; 14 years of being with us. Her sister passed away in 2003. Lucky back in the mid 90's. We have a new dog Penni (That is the puppy in the photo). So I understand your pain. But it is actually better to adopt another pet again soon, because they are put to sleep every single day. So rescuing them from the pound saves their lives.
Just understand that you loved your pets and gave them a great life. They could have ended up somewhere bad. Animals don't get to choose where they live. So your a great person for caring so much!
