    so I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. It have a Motorola V551 that I just recenly got when I signed up with cingular. I switched from T-Mobile only for the mere fact that I needed coverage in the rural areas that T-Mobile did not reach.

    Nonetheless, I've noticed that my phone goes to Voicemail way to quickly. I've even called myself, and it rings three times, and goes to voicemail. I really don't have time to answer the phone. is there a setting that I can change or is this a network setting that I have no control over.

    Hope someone can help.

    On some phones, you can change it by going into call settings. I do know that if you call Cingular, they can adjust the amount of rings. Give them a call at 1.800.331.0500.

    yes...give them a call and just ask them to increase the ring time. u can use the number that the last guy gave you or just dial 611 from your cell phone.

    you can manually do this yourself by dialing

    *#61#Send - This will give you your Voice Mail (VM) number (write it down)

    After you get the VM number, use this code:

    **61*yourVMnumber**30#Send
    ( 30 is number of seconds that your phone would ring before it goes to VM)

    you can set it in increments of 5,10,15,20,25,30
    i used "30" to give it plenty of time to ring usually about 7-8 rings.

    (oOO\ (||||)(||||) /OOo)

    I might have to try that myself. I have the same problem. I don't even hear my phone or feel it vibrate most of the time until the second ring then by the time I get my phone off of my belt clip it has usually gone to voicemail. And if I'm driving or something, there's usually no way I can get to it before it goes to voicemail... I thought I was the only one having that problem...ha
