I have a 850mhz phone in houston, tx. does anyone know if they have launched 850 in texas yet?

yes 8450 was launched with the rollout/roaming agreement with Cingular GSM. AT&T and Cingular are not puttin gup 1900 and 850 towers and allowing free roaming on TX local plans

AT&T is mostly a 1900mz carrier, Cingular uses an 850 network in Fla and a couple other markets. Unless their is a Specturm issue in TX with a need for the 850 network you should ony find 1900 in that market. AT&T does not have a 850 build out in it roadmap. They use Cingular in the small pockets where 850 is needed. In Fla the use 1900 on ATT and 850 on Cingular as needed.
