Re: Pirates beware... Big Brother is watching, AGAIN
Not a good thing to admin... but whatever, as long as you're not tapping in to other's wireless illegally... but remember, downloading pirated material is illegal. Oh, and btw... the Bluelist generator? for each key it creates = one stolen from another = major fines/jail time if caught.

Re: Pirates beware... Big Brother is watching, AGAIN
Wtf, can they really do this? isn't it like invasion of privacy or something?

Technically, no. You don't own the copy of Windows that you are on, you lease it from Microsoft. As long as you use Windows, you agree with the TOS

Read up on Calea. The gov. is gonna start monitoring everything you do on the net through your isp. It is staring May 2007 this year.

I could see them collecting the info... but them having the rights to delete your content I find hard to believe, even if it was with pirated software. It just seems a bit too extreme logically and legally... if anything they would just give you a fine. That's just my two cents though.

And drive them where? I'm not switching to Linux any time soon. Unless Google comes up with something maybe.
But I keep MS/Windows crap around mainly because there's just not enough alternatives that are easily implemented and use the same software that I've got for Windows.
My plan... I'm just going to break down and make the switch to a Mac in the near future.

Re: Pirates beware... Big Brother is watching, AGAIN
How do you keep WMP 11 from automatically adding all music that you rip onto your computer using another media player? What is a better free player to use that is similar? I would like to keep wmp 11- netflix uses it. I need to have two copies of some songs on my computer (one wma for my creative zen and one mp3 to use to make ringtones). WMP won't let you do this.

Re: Pirates beware... Big Brother is watching, AGAIN
If you had read the whole thread you would have seen that people were talking about media players and about switching from WMP. I thought people here may have an opinion on what would be a good media player, but I will just start a new thread.

Re: Pirates beware... Big Brother is watching, AGAIN
I can not believe Microsoft would do this. this is going to drive customers away..but I don't think they realize how many people pirate software...So it harder to catch'em...also couldnt you just evade WMP11?
I also love Linux...But it isnt install on my system yet rofl.
I sadly use iTunes....I don't know how to convert them to MP3
