Re: Vibrating ringtones?
I've just had a scan around the net and I think these tones are only available to samsung. I tested a few on my old Siemens SL55 (supports MMF) and all of them brought up a message saying "unable to open file". Guess that means no vibrating tones for us MIDI users then Hidden Content .

Re: Vibrating ringtones?
FINALLY! It took me a while, but after a little research, I found out that you can have Sony Ericsson phones vibrate to tones with the .imy extention. Whatsmore, you can also have the display flash on and off too. Just type in vibrating imys on a search engine - they're really no that hard to find. The only downside is that they must be monophonic, but that's easily made up for by the fact that no software is required to make them - all you need is notepad, however there's a lot more to it than just typing letters, you need to know the code to create them - a bit like HTML for mobile if you like. I'm sure some one on here is able to make them.

Re: Vibrating ringtones?
I'm new to this so bare with me. The format has to be in .mmf for the vibration to occur with the beat of the song?

The "mmf" and "imy" files are easy to find. The "sp-midi" files are so rare, it's like they don't even exist. If you need any more info, just tell me your phone model and I'll tell you the format needed. Hidden Content

Re: Vibrating ringtones?
I'm still looking for a way to do it on the Motorola Q. While .imy and .mmf ringtones work as far as ringing the vibration part doesn't work.

Re: Vibrating ringtones?
That's the same case with my old Siemens SL55 too. While the ringing works, the vibration dosn't. Sadly this is something that I can't seem to solve unless siemens have their own vibrating format - which I doubt.
By the way I just had a thought:
What do you suppose would happen if you open a midi file as code and type in a few vibration lines like with imy files? I wouldn't know how to do this, but anyone that can might like to see if this works.Last edited by Zarphor92; 09-05-2006 at 01:02 PM.
