Looks like the i860 is much smaller and less thick than the i930. I was going to upgrade but I'll pass now. No way can I go to a larger phone than this one. It also looks like the i930 internal screen is smaller too.

it is the i930 and the back there is no NEXTEN name that is just a sticker on all the phones . it is just not on this on
and as for the net alerts there is no IDEN software in the phone at this time . it also supports IDEN and GSM . from what i hear the phone will not be released any time soo if it get released at all . i think the next phone to be released by NEXTEL it going to be the i833 it is not a flip phone and it will be just like all the others but dont quote me on that .

With the i930 being so much biger than either the i860 and more so that the i830. I wished at least it had a "stylus" since I hear it is a ppc based phone!

the i833 will be a limited edition i830 phone. Very similar in features but a little diffent shape. It will be a flip phone.

F.Y.I.
Hi All...
Here's the latest on that phone (BTW I work for NEXTEL), the phone you are looking at is strictly a prototype. It has software that has been programmed to expire (courtesy of our friends from MOTOROLA). Secondly, the I930 is a unit that will not have bluetooth. The exterior housing will most likely change and be modified (All things considered... the silver oval or outline/detail is ugly and will probably be removed). The release date has been pushed back and will slated for the middle of 2005.
As a final note, anyone from NEXTEL or MOTOROLA illegally releasing any information about this unit or any device, price, or future plan pricing can get nailed for insider trading.
Therefore, I will stop talking about that ugly phone.

does anyone know if the i930 is a megapixel phone or if it has camera as the i860 300k pixels? tried the camera on the i860 and found it to be disappointing. thanks.

in its current form it has the same camera as the i860 but that could change by its release date of second quarter 2005

FYI I got a BB 7510 because of the signal problems the i730 was having... Have been waiting all this time for a smartphone because the technology is supposed to be different. Just a couple of thoughts after doing some research and talking to a few data techs at Nextel: The new BB will have bluetooth. The i930 will not have bluetooth and it will be a creation borne of Microsoft & Motorola (what does that tell you??!!) the i860 has a crappy camera, but has been through its bumps and the ringtone downloads should be fixed soon. All the techs who have done some beta on the 930 DISLIKE it. Other than the BB that looks like a boat anchor, the 860 is totally the way to go, because its going to be the middle of next year before they work out all the bugs and problems. And from what I hear, there are going to be plenty. So if it takes them till early Q2 to release it, that's 4 months from now. I am tortured by the BB and I have to get another phone anyway. Why should I wait 4+ months for something that sounds like a total disaster? OH and HELLO Motorola, could we get bluetooth with a phone sometime soon? Morons..
