email alerts to Nextel phone

I'm an IT guy for a small business. They have nextels which I've never used. Somone would like alerts (SMS most likely?) sent to their phone when they get an email. Not sure where to begin here. The email domain is the company's which is hosted by Brinkster.

everynextel has an email address:

it's the 10 digit mobile number @messgaing.nextel.com or @page.nextel.com

only thing is most plans are $.10 page. You can add on 2-way messaging starting at $7.50 a month or $10 for messaging package w/aol and bonus 60 cell mins. I use mobile email on my nextel. I can read/send my pop or corp email from my handset and set it up for any kind of notification I want. I you have questions or I can add data packages on for you just email me.
