Hi,
I have a Sanyo SCP-4920 phone through Qwest. No PCS stuff.
I want to be able to upload screensavers from my home PC or Mac - either one or both.
I assume I need some kind of cable that fits the jack at the bottom of the phone. The phone's manual says it's a USB port, but it's certainly not shaped like any USB cable ends I have around here.
I'm also guessing I need some software to carry all that off.
Can someone instruct me on how to get started? Any particulars about this phone would be especially outstanding!
Thanks all!

Hey, to answer my own question, yes...
In order to upload ringers and wallpapers/pictures to your cell phone, you need a cable and some software to do it.
The cheapest software appears to be BitPim, which works on Win, Mac, and Linux and it totally free. I've tried it and it worked great on both Win and Mac.
Cables are expensive, and the software that is usually sold with them is probably NOT as good as the free and open source "BitPim". Unfortunately, you almost always have to pay as much for the cord whether with or without the software.
You must purchase a cord that matches your phone.
Not all software matches all phones, and BitPim doesn't work with every phone. Make sure you get the right software and cord for your phone.
I'm sure all the regulars knew this and it was obvious... however, for those beginners like me, there's the plan.
