hi im sure that this has been asked before, but i did search and it didn't give me any results. i am looking to get a T-Mobile prepaid plan, because many people in my area have it and get better reception that i do on my Verizon phone. i was already told that my Verizon phone will not be able to be unlocked for T-Mobile. not my question is what other service providers can i get phones from to use on T-Mobile prepaid? i am a android user but am looking into a windows phone.

I don't know about windows phones - but the Google Nexus 4 was practically made for T-Mobile.

You have to be a little careful if you want T-Mobile's top speeds. The frequency bands are a little different than ATT so some of the ATT phones won't get 3g/4g. T-Mobile needs 1700 and 2100 Mhz bands. Many ATT phones only have one of these. Also, this year T-Mobile is rolling out LTE - and its LTE is different than ATT.

The easiest way is verify the model number T-Mobile sells then buy from a retailer that sells unlocked phones.

What T-Mobile plan are you looking at?

im looking at getting t mobiles prepaid plan web exclusive that is 30 bucks for unlimited web(first 5 gigs at 4g) unlimited text and 100 minutes, my average minutes usage a month is in the low 70's. i am open to android phones because i have a nexus 7, but want a windows 8 phone because my pc runs windows 8. currently im looking at the htc 8x and the lumia 810, idk which is better but the cheaper option may win in the end.

That looks like such a great plan. I couldn't make the 100 minutes work

If you find you need more minutes you should check out Solavei. It's a T-Mobile MVNO that offers a better deal than T-Mobile directly (other than that $30 plan). I've been happy with them.

I love my Nexus 4. Last weekend I played with a Surface Tablet for the first time. It was pretty neat so I understand the Windows Phone appeal.

When you make up your mind you should post a mini review.

I have this plan and i really like it. Im saving 40bucks a month over my old verizon plan. I mainly use it for the 4g speeds, but 5Gb's doesn't last me that long, so for most of the month i hook up to free wifi at different locales. For me its the only way to fly!
