I was interested to note that this java programme:
http://trifinite.org/trifinite_stuff_blooover.html
for any mdsp enabled phone (basically any modern phone) can do all sorts of
nonsense to other phones... thankfully a lot of phones arew defended, but my
mate's razr v3 isn't.
It inserted a fake entry in his phonebook, inserted fake SMS in his inbox,
changed his call diversion number, sent an sms, made a phone call to
germany, and most worrying showed me his entire sms inbox, personal details
(as they were entered on the phone somewhere or a nother, such as the 'my
personal details' section...) and all of the phonebook.
I know a lot of this has been sorted by some manufacturers, but it's quite
worrying that phones such as his, 6310i and other phones with older
firmware, are still vulnerable.
He works for Motorola, who deny any of the above is possible. As he works at
head-office a hundred metres from the uk CEO, seems a bit ironic :-(

It loads on my 6230, scans for bluetooth devices, and always fails to
find anything.

You do have to ensure bluetooth is enabled first, otherwise it wont do
anything.
